FIXED VERTICAL LADDER – EN 14122-4

Aluminium access ladders.

Vertical access ladders provide safe, strong and efficient permanent access to buildings, installations and machinery, including at considerable heights. Rest platforms make climbing easier. Optional accessories allow the system to be adapted to different site requirements, while Jormax's optimised installation system can reduce fitting time by up to 30%. Modern, heavy-duty fixings improve durability and efficiency. Each installation is planned around its location and intended use to meet the applicable standards.
The MARINE-TYPE VERTICAL ACCESS LADDER – EN 14122-4 is certified to European standard EN 14122-4.

* The intermediate landing module is common to all access ladder installations over 10.00 m high: two 2.80 m ladders, three standard safety hoops, one double connecting hoop and eight 2.20 m extension bars. Ladders are supplied for a specified height range (for example, model 104004 fits 5.71–6.54 m); any excess length is cut off at ground level.

Exit
If the clearance at the exit from the ladder to the building exceeds 75 mm, an additional step must be fitted to bridge the gap.
A self-closing gate must be installed at the ladder exit, together with side handrails extending at least 1.50 m from the centre of the ladder. Where existing guardrails are present, they must be connected to the ladder.

Step of Exit – Fixing
The fixing standard provides a gap of 210 mm, measured from the centre of the rung to the wall. Other fixing options are available for different stand-off distances. The distance between fixings must not exceed 2.00 m and fixings should preferably be positioned immediately below the rungs.

First Step
The first rung must be positioned at a height above ground level between 100 mm (min.) and 200 mm (max.).

Protection Dorsal
Protection dorsal compulsory for ladders with height ≥ the 3,00 m.
Installation of the safety cage at a height between 2,20 to 3,00 m.
